About — Dr Richard Burrows

I graduated with my five-year medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Leicester on 13th July 2012, following which I completed two years working as a Foundation Doctor in Leicester. I then moved to the West Midlands to complete three years of Core Psychiatry Training and, subsequently, three years of Specialist Training in Forensic Psychiatry. Since 10th August 2020, I have held the position of Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at St Andrew’s Healthcare, Northampton, where I work in the secure Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disability Division.

I am a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. I am also an approved clinician and Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983, as amended, certified. In addition, I am a doctor registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise, achieving my full registration on 7th August 2013. Moreover, I am on the GMC’s Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry.
